Don Landek will be our speaker. He became a Master Gardener Volunteer in 2019 to pursue a lifelong interest in plants and plant propagation. He also retired in 2019 after over 40 years in health care. He has been growing various house plants with a focus on African violets for more than 50 years.
The presentation will start with a brief history of house plants, the light requirements, soil, and watering needs which will lead to a brief discussion of the benefits of growing house plants. Then the presentation will take a deeper dive on the key aspects (including propagation) of one of the most popular house plants, African violets, which currently have over 19,000 named hybrids!
