A Note From Our President

I’m sure everyone has been busy getting their tubers in the ground and getting ready for the season. 

In my garden, I actually have my first bloom coming up (I prestarted inside), so I expect to see my dahlias sooner than I had hoped for. That being said, I still have some tubers I need to get into the ground along with seedlings that are just sitting in their trays. So if you haven’t planted yet, know that you aren’t behind and there is still plenty of time. 

We’ll have our regular meeting on June, 21st at 7:00 pm. I’m still confirming the speaker but as soon as I hear I’ll be sure to send a note out. 

For anyone new to growing, I’ve pulled together some resources for you to help with some early growing tips:

Rabbit Manure

Tom Sabrey who is our Cuyahoga County Fair contact has rabbit manure for sale for whoever is interested. It is excellent fertilizer for plants.  He has it stored in garbage bags and says there is a good amount in each bag.  He sells it for $1 per bag.  Contact Tom at rabbitman83@aol.com (mailto:rabbitman83@aol.com.)  if you are interested. Pickup is at his house in Strongsville.
