2020 has been an unusual year in may respects, and this is true for DSO also. We could not hold our annual sales and auctions in the traditional manner – and these are our only fund raisers. We managed to switch to an online store, and the ordering and pick up process went really well. We were happy to see not only our members but others buying. Our online tuber sale proceeds almost met last year’s sale and auction combined, and though one plant sale couldn’t match our normal two sales and an auction, we were able to meet the revised goal of selling most of the plants that had been grown for the sales. Thanks to all our customers and the DSO folks who made this happen!
We are particularly thankful for the help the Petitti Garden Center and Willoway Nursery gave us. Both organizations have been great friends to DSO for many years and they certainly showed this year that “a friend in need is a friend indeed”.
